Here are a few of the best places to play softball in Philadelphia.

Belmont Plateau Softball Fields

Where: 1800 Belmont Mansion Drive

Located in West Fairmount Park, Belmont Plateau is one of the city's most beautiful green spaces. With a ton of great amenities, you’ll be able to enjoy a game of softball, beautiful scenery, and much more.

Penn Park

Where: 3000 Walnut St

Penn Park is conveniently located right next to Penn U, alongside the Schuylkill River. It is a beautiful park equipped with a picnic area, tennis courts, and other athletic fields. 

Schuylkill River park

Where: 300 S 25th St

Right across the river from Penn Park is Schuylkill River Park. Play a game of softball at Taney Field, then enjoy the paved walkways, a public pool, an off-leash dog area, and scenic views of the Schuylkill River.

FDR Park

Where: 1500 Pattinson Ave

FDR Park is one of Philly’s biggest and best parks. Home to a golf course, various athletic fields, and multiple waterfronts, there is much to enjoy after a good game of softball on one of their fields.  

Kendrick Recreation Center

Where: 5822 Ridge Ave

The Kendrick Recreation Center in Manayunk is a great place to play softball. There are plenty of family-friendly activities and facilities here for kids and adults to enjoy year-round.

Adults, youths, and children can hone their softball skills in one of Philly’s social or competitive softball groups.

Philadelphia Adult League — Softball (PALS)

Where: Mill Creek Playground

PALS is an inclusive and competitive organization that offers four co-ed slow-pitch softball leagues in West Philly.

Philadelphia Spirit 

Where: Palmer Playground, Lions Lake Softball Complex and Kresson Elementary School 

Philadelphia Spirit is a nonprofit organization serving young female athletes in Philly. They are working to provide every one of their female athletes with the best access to resources so they can improve their skills. 

The organization hosts tournaments, open play games and other softball events.

Co-Ed Philadelphia Softball Meetup Group

Where: Belmont Plateau

This casual and social group meets throughout the summer to enjoy a game of softball before heading out for a bite to eat and drinks at a local pub.

In this group, socializing holds equal weight to playing. All skill levels, ages, and genders are welcome to join.

Lower Bucks County Softball Group

Where: Lower Bucks County

For softball players outside the city center, the Lower Bucks County Softball Group is a great option. This is a free, casual and social meetup group that is inclusive of all experience levels. 

Ring The Bell Kids Softball Camp

Where: FDR Park

Hosted by Phield House, this softball day camp is a great way for kids to enjoy softball. Monday-Thursday, your little one can practice their batting skills from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. 

Phield House Leagues and Groups

Where: Phield House

Phield House is a recreation center in downtown Philly that offers leagues, clinics, and open play for adults and youth. Check out their website to learn more about their fielding, hitting, and quickball clinics as well as their day camps for kids.
